Vaishnavi’s 9-month-old infant has been reunited with the Kaspate family after five days of being kept at an undisclosed location by the Hagawane family. The Kaspate family’s suspicions were immediately raised, leading them to seek a medical examination for the baby. During the medical check-up, a lump was discovered on the baby’s waist. This unsettling finding has led the Kaspate family to suspect that the infant may have been given sleeping injections for two to three days, indicating a possible act of extreme cruelty. The family fears that the accused individuals crossed all limits of inhumanity.
Vaishnavi’s infant was reportedly passed through several hands before reaching the Kaspate family. Initially, the baby was with a person named Nilesh Chavan. The Kaspate family states that Nilesh Chavan has consistently been involved in their domestic disputes. They further allege that Chavan is not Vaishnavi’s husband Shashank Hagawane’s friend, but rather Karishma Hagawane’s (Vaishnavi’s sister-in-law) friend. They claim that even their family meetings were held at his office.
Nilesh Chavan had allegedly threatened Vaishnavi’s family with a revolver when they tried to retrieve the child. An FIR has reportedly been filed against him.
The post-mortem report of Vaishnavi Hagawane has delivered crucial findings. The post-mortem was conducted at Pune’s renowned Sassoon Hospital by Dr. Jaidev Thackeray and Dr. Tatiy. The report clearly states that Vaishnavi’s death was caused by strangulation. Furthermore, multiple injury marks were found on her body, suggesting physical assault. Internal organs and other samples have been preserved for chemical analysis to determine if any other substances were involved. While the Hagawane family initially claimed Vaishnavi died by suicide through hanging, the presence of severe injury marks on her body has led her relatives to strongly suspect she was murdered. The Kaspate family is demanding that the police investigate the case as a murder, not a suicide.
