Unseasonal Rain in Maharashtra: The weather has been cloudy in Maharashtra for the last four to five days. Now, the IMD has warned of rain with gusty winds in the state for the next three to four days. The IMD has predicted thunderstorms in Vidarbha, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra. It has been reported that a low pressure area is active from North Maharashtra, Konkan to the Arabian Sea. Meanwhile, there are signs that the southwest monsoon will arrive in India on time this year as the conditions are conducive for the movement of the southwest monsoon winds. The monsoon rains will arrive in Kerala on May 27. Last year, the southwest monsoon winds hit the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on May 19. Also, the monsoon rains arrived in Kerala ahead of schedule, i.e. on May 30. This year too, the situation is likely to be the same.
105 percent rainfall during June to September
The southwest monsoon usually arrives in Kerala around June 1. This year, the country is expected to receive good rainfall. The IMD has predicted that there will be 105 percent rainfall during June to September. The Meteorological Department has also said that there will be good rainfall across the state.
Weather in Maharashtra
The IMD has issued a yellow alert and predicted unseasonal rains for the next four days. According to the forecast, the duration of unseasonal rains in the state will increase for the next four days and rain warnings have been issued at various places in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha, including the Konkan coast.
On May 11 , Yellow alert has been issued for rain mostly in the state. While on May 12 , IMD has declared yellow alert in entire Vidarbha, also in Madhya Maharashtra – Nashik, Pune, Satara, Kolhapur.
