What Decided in Meeting to Solve the Traffic Congestion?
Sinhgad Road New Flyover Traffic Jam: PMC officials and Traffic Police Officers held an urgent meeting after realizing that the Rajaram Bridge to Funtime flyover on Sinhagad Road was getting clogged with traffic despite the opening of the new bridge. During the meeting, officials discussed tp synchronize the traffic control signals at Veer Baji Pasalkar Chowk, remove the divider and create a separate lane. The city had high hopes from new flyover that it’ll resolve the traffic congestion on Sinhagad Road. But very soon after opening, the traffic jam issue was observed. Due to lack of planning between the Municipal Corporation and the Traffic Police, it was observed that the traffic congestion was created on the very first day after the bridge was opened for traffic.
Yuvraj Deshmukh, Chief Engineer of the Municipal Corporation’s Project Department, Additional Police Commissioner Manoj Patil, as well as senior officials of the PMC and the Police Department were present in the meeting held on Saturday. “In this meeting, the synchronization of traffic control lights at the intersection and other measures that need to be taken were reviewed. To avoid traffic congestion on this road, the dividers will have to be removed at some places. It was also decided to draw new lanes,” Deshmukh said.
Citizens are now using this new flyover to head to Khadakwasla, Dhayri, Vadgaon, Narhe and other areas. To solve the traffic congestion at the intersection, it is necessary for the Municipal Corporation and the Traffic Police to coordinate and find a solution.
