According to the victim, the male employee was doing lewd act on the university premises. Distressed by this, the victim filed a formal complaint with the university administration.
Only then, instead of addressing the complaint, the Dean and the Registrar backfired and denied to take action. This has fueled further anger among the student. In response to the alleged inaction, a group of 30-40 female students have initiated a sit-in protest on campus. They are demanding immediate and decisive action against the employee involved. Not only this, they are also demanding action for accountability from university officials for their handling of the situation.
As of now, the university administration has not issued an official statement regarding the incident or the student protests. While on the other hand, the protesting students are going to continue their demonstration until their demands are met. This incident has raised concerns about campus safety and the university’s commitment to addressing sexual harassment.
