Priya Lashkar, a sports teacher from a Shirdi school, was traveling with her husband and child on an ST bus in Pune when a drunken man, in a state of intoxication, started harassing her. As soon as she noticed this, Priya immediately caught the man and beat him up. (Pune ST Bus Harassment)
After the incident, Priya took the man to the Shanivarwada police chowky, but no police personnel were present there. After half an hour of effort, Priya contacted corporator Ajay Khedekar and informed him about the incident. After some time, the police arrived, but in this entire episode, none of the women present in the bus came forward to help.
