Pune: Pune Railway Station new lifts : Pune Railway Station is set to receive a much-needed upgrade with the installation of four new lifts. Two of these lifts, serving platforms 1 and 6, are expected to be operational by January 2025.
Indu Dubey, Divisional Manager of Pune Railway, confirmed the development. “The lifts at platforms 1 and 6 will be ready for use by January 2025. The remaining two lifts are also under construction and will be operational within the next six months,” she said.

The installation of these lifts is a significant step towards improving accessibility for passengers, particularly the older and people with disabilities.

The new lifts will be strategically placed to enhance connectivity across the station:
– Platform 1
– Between platforms 2 and 3
– Between platforms 4 and 5
– Near platform 6, adjacent to the Pune Metro Station
While the central foot-over-bridge (FOB) has been temporarily closed due to safety concerns, passengers can utilize the other FOBs, including the one connecting all six platforms, built in 2019.
The addition of these new lifts is expected to significantly improve passenger flow and overall station accessibility, making the railway station more convenient for all.
