The call centre employed 123 staff members who contacted approximately 100,000 U.S. citizens daily. Posing as U.S. law enforcement officials, they accused victims of involvement in narcotics transactions and threatened them with arrest unless they paid fines ranging from \$30,000 to \$40,000 (approximately ₹33 lakh). Investigations revealed that the operation generated daily revenues of around ₹33 lakh, with funds funneled back to India through hawala channels.

The Crime Branch conducted a raid on May 24, arresting five individuals. However, the alleged mastermind, Karan Shekhawat from Ahmedabad, along with associates Sanjay More and Ketan Gawhane, remain at large. Police teams have been dispatched to Gujarat to apprehend the fugitives.
The Pune Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts to trace the remaining suspects and dismantle the entire network.
