PMC to Auction 42 Properties to Recover Outstanding Property Tax

Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued a notice for the auction of 42 properties whose owners have defaulted on property tax payments. Madhav Jagtap, head of the PMC property tax department, said, “We have followed all procedures to facilitate defaulters in clearing their outstanding property tax. However, after receiving no positive response from those who owed property tax, we have seized their residential and commercial properties, which will be auctioned.”

On condition of anonymity, a PMC official said, “The total outstanding property tax of the defaulters is around Rs 100 crore. After the auction of the properties and recovery of the outstanding tax, the remaining amount will be handed over to the respective defaulters.”
