Pimpri Chinchwad Clean-Up Drive : The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) successfully conducted a massive cleanliness drive across various river ghats in the city, resulting in the collection of over 10,445 kg of waste. The initiative, part of the “Clean Maharashtra and Bharat Abhiyan (Urban),” aimed to clean water bodies like rivers, lakes, and ghats, following directives from Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh.

Key Achievements:

The drive, conducted across different regional offices, yielded significant results:

B Regional Office: 3,985 kg of waste was collected from locations such as Mamurdi Pavana River Ghat, Chinchwadgaon Thergaon Bridge, Kiwale Mahadev Temple, and others.
C Regional Office: 780 kg of waste was removed from the Chikhali immersion ghat.
D Regional Office: 1,500 kg of waste was collected at Mhatoba Temple in Wakad.
E Regional Office: 1,600 kg of waste was cleaned near Chaholi Ghat on the Indrayani River.
G Regional Office: 890 kg of waste was collected at Subhash Ghat, Thergaon crematorium, and other areas.
H Regional Office: 1,690 kg of waste was removed from Fugewadi, Kasarwadi, Pavana Ghat, and Harris Bridge.

Health Executive Officer Ganesh Deshpande reported a total waste collection of 10,445 kg. Deputy Commissioner Sachin Pawar urged citizens to actively participate in keeping the city clean and waste-free.

Upcoming Drives:
The PCMC appealed to former ward representatives, cleanliness ambassadors, citizens, students, NGOs, women’s self-help groups, and volunteers to join upcoming drives scheduled for January 18th and 25th. Additional Commissioner Vijaykumar Khorate emphasized the importance of collective efforts in achieving a cleaner city.
