‘No-Parking’ at Pune Railway Station: Parking of all types of vehicles within a radius of two hundred meters of Pune Railway Station premises, except for the official parking lot, has been banned. This decision will help reduce traffic jams in the railway station premises. Cars and rickshaws carrying passengers have been allowed. However, they will not be able to wait for long. Rohidas Pawar, Additional Superintendent of Police of the Railway Police Force had discussed the measures with Amol Zende, Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Traffic Branch. After that, the traffic police decided to prohibit parking of all types of vehicles within 200 meters from both the entrances of the railway station premises. Before implementing this decision, citizens and passengers are requested to send written suggestions and objections to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police by May 17. A final order will be issued after considering all the suggestions. Meanwhile, the implementation of this order has been started on a pilot basis. A board will also be installed there by the railway administration.
Traffic police has prohibited the parking of all types of vehicles within 200 meters from both the entrances of the railway station. However, vehicles carrying passengers (cabs, rickshaws) are allowed to stop but not for a long time in the entrance area.
