Monsoon Arrives Early in Maharashtra : The southwest monsoon has knocked in Maharashtra ahead of its scheduled time, just like Kerala. According to IMD, the monsoon is expected to reach Mumbai within the next 2 to 3 days. As a result, several regions of the state will receive heavy rainfall in the coming days. The IMD has confirmed that the monsoon has now reached Devgad in Maharashtra, which is earlier than the usual timeline. The early arrival of monsoon is expected to bring a much-needed relief to farmers preparing for the Kharif season. However, it also poses challenges for municipal authorities and local administrations to prepare for the heavy rainfall and related risks.
