Kalyani Nagar roads turn Risky: As Construction sites disrupt daily commute

Kalyani Nagar roads turn Risky: Residents in Kalyani Nagar, especially those near Dmart Lane, are frustrated and worried as ongoing construction activities have severely damaged the roads. With debris scattered, roads narrowed, and potholes increasing, the daily commute has become unsafe and stressful.

Trucks carrying construction materials regularly drop mud, sand, and waste along the road, turning once-smooth streets into uneven, dusty, and dangerous lanes. The sharp increase in heavy vehicle movement has worsened road conditions, cracking the surface and creating deep pits that threaten both vehicles and pedestrians. Locals say that riding two-wheelers has become a risky task, especially during evenings or early mornings when visibility is low. Elderly citizens and school children struggle the most, as footpaths remain blocked with rubble, forcing them to walk on these damaged roads.

Dust pollution is another growing concern. Residents complain of constant dust in the air, affecting health and making it difficult to breathe, especially for those with asthma or respiratory issues. There’s also rising fear that construction runoff could clog the drainage system, leading to flooding once the monsoon sets in.

Despite repeated appeals, no visible action has been taken to fix the road or regulate the construction work. Residents are now demanding that strict rules be enforced on builders, including proper waste management, safer transport of materials, and immediate road repairs.

With monsoon approaching, locals say urgent action is the only way to prevent accidents and health issues. They are calling on the civic authorities to act before the situation turns worse.
