Former PM Manmohan Singh Passes Away: A Look at His Legacy and Final Moments in Parliament

Manmohan Singh Passes Away : Former PM Manmohan Singh, the only Sikh to hold the office, passed away on Thursday. According to sources at AIIMS, Singh’s condition was critical, and he was being treated by a team of doctors. The exact cause of his hospitalization has not yet been revealed.

Manmohan Singh, a distinguished leader of the Congress party, entered the Rajya Sabha in 1991, shortly after being appointed Finance Minister in the PV Narasimha Rao government. Representing Assam for five terms in the Upper House, Singh later shifted his political base to Rajasthan in 2019.

Known for his calm demeanor, Singh’s last words in Parliament included a strong condemnation of demonetisation, referring to it as a “sanctioned and lawful raid.” His passing marks the end of an era in Indian politics.
