The impact sent people flying and caused panic in the busy locality. Onlookers immediately rushed to help, and emergency services responded quickly, transporting the injured to nearby hospitals. Among the victims, three individuals suffered serious injuries and required intensive medical attention. The remaining injured sustained minor wounds but were left shaken and traumatized. The driver, a resident of Bibwewadi, showed clear signs of intoxication at the scene. Police detained him on the spot and brought him in for questioning. Further investigations confirmed he was driving without a license. He was presented before the court and has now been sent to Yerwada Central Jail under judicial custody. In response to the incident, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister assured that the government would bear the full medical expenses of the injured students.
