In South mumbai, a severe cloudburst resulted in 104 mm of rainfall within a single hour, further exacerbating the situation. Heavy rain has also affected the hospitals. Rain water inserted into KEM hospital’s Pediatric ICU which caused flood like situations, raising concerns about patient safety. The IMD has also issued orange alerts for Thane and Palghar districts, and yellow alerts for Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Satara, Pune, and Nashik. These regions may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall. IMD has advised residents to stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and take necessary precautions as the state braces for continued heavy rains.

The Earliest Onset of the Moonsoon, arriving ten days ahead of schedule, has been attributed to low-pressure systems over the Arabian Sea. While this brings much-needed relief from the heat, it also poses challenges, including potential crop damage and infrastructure strain. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have urged the public to remain vigilant and adhere to safety advisories.
