Mumbai is likely to experience a minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius on May 1, with the sky remaining mostly clear. Pune is likely to experience more heatwave conditions. The maximum temperature in Pune is likely to reach 40 degrees Celsius and the sky will remain completely clear, making the heat wave more intense. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nashik will also witness maximum temperatures of 41 and 42 degrees Celsius respectively. The weather in these areas will remain mainly dry and clear. Especially in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, hot and humid conditions are likely.
The IMD has informed that hot and humid weather will prevail in Ahilya Nagar, Pune, Satara, Solapur, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli and Nanded areas of the state. Therefore, citizens need to take proper precautions to protect themselves from heatstroke. However, there will be a slight change in the weather in Nagpur. The IMD has predicted rain with thunderstorms and gale force winds on May 1. Therefore, the people are likely to get some relief from the heat, but the temperature will continue to rise. The minimum temperature in Nagpur is likely to be 24 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is likely to be 42 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of rain accompanied by gusty winds in Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur and Yavatmal in Vidarbha, and citizens in these areas should remain alert, the IMD informed.
