PMC Approves Land Allocation

PMC approves Land Allocation for 20 Water Tanks in Merged Villages. This initiative aims to address the growing need and demand of water in these areas to ensure an uninterrupted water supply for residents.
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials stated that these spaces, reserved for developmental plans, will be used strategically to improve water infrastructure. “The decision focuses on providing a sustainable solution to water challenges in the merged villages,” a senior official from the civic body said.
The general body approved the proposal after the administration identified water distribution issues in 34 merged villages. They shortlisted 20 locations for immediate water tank construction. The initiative is part of a larger plan to integrate these villages into the city’s water network seamlessly.
The water tanks will enhance storage capacity, ensuring equitable water distribution. Officials explained that the project would also include modern infrastructure to manage and monitor water supply efficiently. The authorities will commence construction soon after obtaining necessary approvals.
Residents in these merged villages have long faced challenges with inconsistent water supply and over-reliance on private tankers. “This is a positive step toward solving our water problems,” said a resident from one of the affected villages.
