India is facing new challenges after the Pahalgam massacre. Maharashtra Cyber Department has released a latest data of cyber crimes. According to it, India has reported over 10 lakh cyber attacks since April 23. Although, the cyber crime department has successfully stopped some of these attacks. The cyber cell report warns that railways, banking systems and government portals are on target.

Maharashtra Cyber ADG Yashasvi Yadav has requested the agencies to conduct red team assessments, DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) failover testing and comprehensive system audits to strengthen cyber security.
Cyber Attacks by Hackers:
Cyber criminals has specifically tried to target education, defense, banking and communication sectors. All concerned departments have been alerted. Islamic cyber groups from Pakistan, West Asia, Morocco and Indonesia are said to be behind these attacks. Mysterious Team Bangladesh (MTBD), an infamous hacker group of Bangladesh’s, has also carried out attacks. MTBD is known for carrying out major cyber attacks. In these attacks, the system crashes or stops working. Pakistani Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) group Insane PK has targeted the websites of Army College of Nursing, Sainik Welfare Board and many army schools. These attackers exploit the vulnerabilities of the content management system through web protocols. After getting access, they misuse the website and post unauthorized content. Indo Hacks Sec, an Indonesian group has also claimed responsibility for several attacks. Databases of Indian telecom companies have also been breached. They released documents named Root Express and Gara Leaks, which contained sensitive information. The leak of terabytes of Indian telecom data on the dark web has raised serious concerns about the country’s cyber defense capabilities. Golden Falcon, operating from West Asia, is known for malware attacks on systems. These groups recently released a report called Falcon Dump Leaks site on the dark web, which details several attacks.
